Mare Island
Mare Island was the nation's first naval station on the West Coast. Since its closure in 1996, the community has rallied around the island's conversion to Vallejo's newest neighborhood. the island is now home to more than 100 businesses, Touro University, an active residential neighborhood, an 18-hole golf course, and much more.
